Stewardship is the fundamental characteristic that defines the Grassroots Grantmaking Committee. Members of the GGC are stewards. They believe that the people in their neighborhood have ideas, skills, and knowledge of high value and they work to support and grow these assets with resources, connections, and information. They realize that the work of building communities is bigger than themselves and believe that the way to make positive and effective changes is by building upon what’s working, what neighbors are already doing.
Throughout their work in neighborhoods, they don’t stand in front or behind their neighbors. They stand beside them, believing they have as much to learn from others and they have to share.
Currently, Neighborhood Allies is not accepting applications for the GGC.
